Pillage and Plunder

dudes. A song i wrote about Kentucky. Scott Boone played guitar and sang. Gary Allgeier played bass. Jenkins on drums. this is from the first ep by Scotty Lust and the Two Timers. the original lineup. 2005.

about a year later i moved up to Cincinnati after getting in a fight with an added member to the band. after i left sayonara tiger i went back to playing in scotty lust and the two timers...then eventually left again. from this first six songs we did it was the first time i had ever really written lyrics or guitar riffs..... Scott added solos and Gary added bass. ive never really considered myself a songwriter....im just a drummer. if you notice on the kinda loud driving part it sounds like its kinda going in and out. thats because of the militer not being set right. i think it sounds kinda cool. pay attention to Gary's bass line. totally made the song. after all. its two chords.

THE SEPARATION OF MAY

WHEN I LOOK BACK AT ALL THE THINGS I HAVE DONE MUSICALLY I THINK ABOUT IT AS A CERTAIN CHAPTER IN M LIFE. I WAS 20 GOING ON 21. I WAS NAIVE ABOUT LIFE IN GENERAL. I HAD VERY LITTLE RESPONSIBILITY AND I WAS IN LOVE WITH MUSIC. NOT MUCH HAS CHANGED EXCEPT THINGS HAVE SEEMED TO BECOME MORE DIFFICULT. MORE MUNDANE. ME AND SCOTT PLAYED MUSIC TOGETHER FROM THE TIME WE WERE FIFTEEN YEARS OLD TILL ABOUT FOUR YEARS AGO. THIS WAS BY FAR THE BEST STUFF WE EVER DID TOGETHER. WE RENTED A HOUSE ON SIX ACRES OF LAND IN WHAT WAS ONCE CONSIDERED THE COUNTY. NO TV IN THE LIVING ROOM JUST OUR GEAR. EVERY NIGHT WE WOULD COME HOME AND WORK ON THE SONGS BUILDING UP TO THE EVENTUAL RECORDING. WHEN RECORDING TIME CAME WE TOOK 400 DOLLARS DOWN TO THE DOO WOP SHOP AND RENTED ALL THE EQUIPMENT TO MAKE A HOME RECORDING. BACK THEN IT WAS A MIXING CONSOLE SOME MICROPHONES AND ADAT MACHINE , A COMPRESSOR, AND AN DAT MACHINE. WE RECORDED SEVEN MICS ON THE DRUMS WITH A GUITAR SCRATCH TRACK. BOUNCED THE DRUMS DOWN TO TWO TRACK STEREO. THEN RECORDED GUITAR BASS AND VOCALS. AFTER WE RECORDED THIS WE PLAYED A HANDFUL OF SHOWS WITH DIFFERENT PEOPLE IN THE BAND. FOR SOME REASON THE CHEMISTRY NEVER WORKED WITH A THIRD OR A FOURTH MEMBER. SO WE EVENTUALLY WENT ON TO DO SOMETHING ELSE. SOMETIMES I FEEL LIKE THIS IS THE BEST THING THAT HAS NEVER BEEN HEARD. SO I REALLY DO ENCOURAGE YOU TO DOWNLOAD THESE 13 SONGS AND ENJOY THEM. FOR ME...IT BRINGS BACK NOT ONLY EVERYTHING THAT IS GREAT ABOUT PLAYING MUSIC AND BEING ABLE IN SOME CAPACITY TO EMOTE THROUGH ELECTRICITY OR BEATING ON SOME SKINS, IT ALSO BRINGS BACK A TIME IN MY LIFE WHERE I WAS JUST STARTING OUT ON MY OWN. I NEVER WOULD HAVE THOUGHT TEN YEARS AGO I WOULD BE LIVING IN COVINGTON SURROUNDED BY A NEW GROUP OF PEOPLE AND SEVERAL BANDS LATER. BUT THEN AGAIN.....I DIDNT KNOW WHAT I WAS DOING BACK THEN. MAYBE I STILL DONT. BUT AT THE TIME....THIS MADE PERFECT SENSE TO ME....AND IT STILL DOES. ENJOY.
